GT-1000 12 continues to be a stable favourite in the running community. It regenerates on the success of the GT-1000 11, delivering a higher level of foot fit, comfort, and durability, while continuing to provide a stability package for a premium lightweight shoe at an affordable price.
Key Updates
- Re-designed heel construction
- Re-engineered upper construction offering a pliable fit
- Refinement of the LITETRUSS™ to direct foot motion
- Reducing bulk, and lighter weight grants improved energy efficiency
Impact of Updates
GT-1000 12 has refined the ride quality by focusing on foot “fit”, which is considered an important aspect for a runner. Rather than re-developing the rewarding midsole construction of the LITETRUSS™, it continues to offer a lenient amount of medial foot control, which is currently the trend with today’s modern foot theories. The re-engineered uppers improve comfort and fit, enabling it to be widely adaptable to a variety of foot shapes, including a new heel design.
Recommendations
For runners wanting a proprioceptive supportive awareness to facilitate and improve their running mechanics. Can be ideally suited for correcting midfoot or forefoot alignment relating to certain medical conditions such as functional Hallux Limitus, arthritis joint pain, and reducing tendinitis from overuse.
Clinical Relevance
The re-engineered uppers, prove what can be achieved in terms of improving runners' comfort, and breathability, with elasticity to cater for varied foot anomalies, while delivering on a supportively secured foothold. The toe-box has a streamlined foot-shaped toe box to help guide the foot. The new heel collar tab, curves away from the Achilles tendon to avoid irritation, improving rearfoot fit with a lighter padded collar cuff for a comfortable desirable secure heel hold.
Maintaining the LITETRUSS™ continues to reduce undesirable motion and helps fine-tune the mechanics of a runner's gait to improve foot efficiency and minimize tissue stress. Which encourages the delaying of foot fatigue making us run longer and faster. This is also facilitated by the reduced weight, which boosts a better-running economy with less energy used.

Personal Experience
The amended uppers are worth the purchase; it clinches the foot to give you a cozy lockdown feel. Retraining LITETRUSS™ isn’t rigid, I hardly felt it. I call this “dynamic stability” which delivers on support if required. Especially if your foot starts to fatigue, it will help maintain stride correction. The ride has a proprioceptive feel rather than a cushioned sensation. This allowed my foot placement to be engaged with the surface environment to improve my natural foot stability. This did make me run quicker and offers versatility in run speeds. I experienced less cushioning comfort, however, it continues to maintain effective energy return. It’s great to find a shoe that provides sensation awareness, with the majority of current footwear invested in delivering cushioning. GT-1000 12 benefitted my training with shorter distances with diverse tempo speeds.
Overall, it’s a lightweight resilient everyday trainer. Perfect for shorter or middle-distance runs at any speed. Suited for any runners wanting mild stability, and is ideally recommended for neutral runners needing additional support.
