ASICS Group is executing a corporate wide strategic plan, ASICS Challenge Plan, to expand its business in the global market by placing the enhancement and expansion of the running business at the core.

The business remained stable as the sporting goods industry had witnessed a rise in the general interest in sports, such as positive effects in the fields of walking and fitness due to an elevated level of health awareness.Amidst such
a situation, the ASICS Group introduce a series of highly functional running shoes, starting with GEL-NIMBUS 9 and GEL-KINSEI 2, in the global market and expanded the product range for women in order to continue the enhancement and expansion of the
running business on the global scale.
In the marketing area, ASICS became an official sponsor of major marathons in different countries, such as the New York City Marathon, The Tokyo Marathon 2008, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, Marathon Hamburg,
and Mumbai Marathon. Besides providing information and various services to participating runners, the company used the occasion to promote the ASICS brand, which is the backbone of the company, using common visuals throughout the world. In the first
step, the corporate slogan of "sound mind, sound body" was selected to create an integral brand image for ASICS.The company also established new sales subsidiaries in Korea and Poland, as well as domestic sales offices in charge of North Kanto area and
Chugoku/Shikoku area, to strengthen and streamline the sales organization.
